Essential Oils

Essential oils are natural plant constituents derived from different parts of plants and they have a long tradition of use in natural medicine, religious ceremonies, as well as health and skincare. The use of essential oils for therapeutic purposes is known as aromatherapy.

Due to their numerous healing properties, essential oils have been ever popular especially with increasing interest and understanding in the power of natural remedies. However, careful selection of suppliers is necessary, as cost pressures on manufacturers have resulted in cases where essential oils are being diluted or adulterated. Even oils from traditional high quality oil producing regions of France have, in some circumstances, found to be less than 100% pure.

Wild's Essential Oils are all 100% Pure Therapeutic Grade that are sourced from a small number of carefully selected suppliers. These suppliers are chosen based on their ability to provide surety on the quality of their oils. This is done by careful supply chain and batch tracking, and through stringent testing of purity using methods such as:

  • gas chromatography
  • density testing, and
  • optical rotation

Our Suppliers

We have introduced the country of origin of our essential oils on our labels, and we use suppliers who can have direct contact with the growers and producers.

We choose our suppliers very carefully and in many cases the suppliers have direct contact with the communities, projects and farms that our products are sourced from. Wherever possible, these suppliers will give preference for fairly traded or ethically sourced products from traditional communities, modern community projects or co-ops or organisations which are looking to better the area in which they operate.

Extraction

The vast majority of our essential oils are extracted by low or medium pressure steam distillation without the use of chemical solvents.

All our essential oils are steam distilled or CO2 extracted essential oils, except in cases where this method of extraction is not possible or would be prohibitive. In these cases, solvents are used to extract the oils and these oils are labelled as an 'absolute'. 'Vanilla' is an example of this.

Pricing of Essential Oils

One of Wild's beliefs is that high quality natural products don't have to be prohibitively expensive. We source our oils very carefully so that we can ensure that our customers are getting the best quality oils are very reasonable prices. Some retailers have started putting premium prices on their oils, unfortunately this is not necessarily a reflection of their quality. Rather, it is the retail mark-up that they are charging, or the additional mark up required to pay the tiers of people used in distributing the oils via multi-level marketing. The oils distributed by these companies are also very good quality (and we have used them ourselves), but you do not need to pay that much for high quality oils.

We take great pride in bringing you our selection of pure essential oils and we are sure that you find them effective and enjoy using them as much as we do.
