- Vetiver oil has a calming and soothing effect on the nervous system and is helpful for muscular aches and pains. It has a positive effect on hormonal imbalance as well as relieving insomnia. The aroma of Vetiver is quite strong and should be diluted/blended with other oils before use.
- Properties: Antiseptic, aphrodisiac, cicatrisant, nervine, sedative, tonic, sedative and vulnerary
- Spiritually: Vetiver attunes one with a connection to nature and provides grounding. For Chakra work, Vetiver is one of the oils recommended for balancing the Root Chakra.
- Diffuse: Diffuse in a burner or vaporiser to help with nervous complaints, dispelling hysteria, anger and irritability and also to relieve insomnia..
- Massage: Blend with a carrier oil and massage to help with mental and physical exhaustion, nervous complaints, rheumatism and arthritic pain, insomnia as well as balancing the hormonal system and have a healing effect on the skin.
- For the skin: Blend in a cream or lotion to moisturise and nourish the skin. It is very good for dry, irritated and dehydrated skin. It also is used to help reduce wrinkles, reduce stretch marks, improve the tone of slack skin and to help wounds heal.
