The Shampoo Bar is gentler than regular shampoos and therefore allows your hair to retain color and moisture whilst reducing the instances of dry scalp and especially oily scalp.

Many people do, however, experience a 'transition' to using a shampoo bar which can last for a week and up to 6 weeks, depending on how damaged your hair is and how often you currently use products containing SLS/SLES (and some genetics). Using a vinegar rinse will speed up the process, balance scalp pH and remove the build up. During the transition your hair or scalp may become oily or dry or alternate between both. You may have more tangles, frizz etc.. - but it will go away and your hair and scalp will be the much better off afterwards. Some people even report that after the transition period your hair may begin to grow faster than normal or your scalp may excrete the build up chemicals that has collected over the years (its slightly creamy similar to dandruff, but localised) - it will go away! Once you are through it, your hair and scalp should show the benefits of the switch. Most people find benefits of switching to a shampoo bar include increased volume, faster growing hair, reduced dandruff and shinier hair.

How to use a shampoo bar:

Start with thoroughly wet hair, then choose a method below.

1. Rub wet shampoo bar directly onto hair from scalp to ends in a combing motion. Cover each section of your hair.

2. Rub wet shampoo bar between hands, body sponge or cloth to create a fluffy lather. Massage lather into hair and scalp.

Rinse hair thoroughly.

Leave the bar out to air dry ready for its next use.

This soap is handmade in Australia.

Healthier. Less hair lossReview by Serene
Product Rating
I definitely feel much much healthier and better using all natural handmade shampoo bar rather than commercial shampoo and conditioner with chemicals! Making the switch was great for me! I got my husband to switch too. It feels great. I do recommend you use this only if you know the "no poo" method. I washed my hair normally the first time (scrub and wash every way and direction) and my hair feels squeaky clean but got totally tangled, so I was unused to it the first time and thought I wouldn't make the switch after all. Only after I read the website again and research on "no poo" method then did I decide to try again. Here are my tips:
I would not advise you to wash your hair only once a week or two weeks! This is Singapore! It is hot, humid and sticky. Especially for long hair! Who are we kidding? In fact, I had doubts about those that claim to wash so infrequently in temperate climate. Anyway, I wash my hair every alternate day as usual. Scrub and wash your hair and scalp in a smooth one way direction as in the way you would comb or brush it. When the hair still has the soapy lather, detangle and comb it out with your fingers or a soft brush before you rinse off. It is easier this way because after rinse the hair is squeaky clean and impossible to detangle. After rinsing off, use apple cider vinegar with water in a small pail/holder and soak your hair in it for a minute and then rinse out the entire head/hair with the mixture. The hair will be soft and shiny and tangle free. Since I made the switch and started going "no poo", by the 3rd wash I had noticed that I have much lesser hair loss. I feel it is a healthy switch and will stick to it. No more commercial shampoo and conditioner with chemicals! (Posted on 12/28/2016)
